The initial discovery and exploration of Sistema Cuicateca to a depth of 1243 meters and a length of 16.3 kilometers. The project and the cave are both now called Cheve, and Sistema Cheve, at 1386 meters deep, was the deepest in Mexico for a few years during the early 1990s.
